Resignations of all town officials, elected or appointed, must be filed with the Town Clerk prior to becoming effective.
All letters of resignation should be addressed and sent to the attention of the Town Clerk.
The person resigning may specify in their resignation letter an effective date later than the date of the filing; however, if not, the effective date will be the date on which it is received in the Town Clerk's Office.
It is the responsibility of the Town Clerk to notify the appointing authority of such resignation.
