Births - The town clerk records, maintains and files all vital records and establishes birth records for adoptions and at-home births. Records would be on file if the parents of the child were living in Wayland when the child was born and/or if the child was born in Wayland.
Deaths -Records would be on file if the deceased was a resident of Wayland when the death occurred or if the death occurred in Wayland. We do not have records of deaths that occurred out of state.
Marriages - Records would be on file if the marriage intention was filed in Wayland.
- You may request a certified copy of a vital record by phone or mail. Certified copies are $10. each payable by check to the "Town of Wayland" or by cash in person. See ordering instructions below.
- For historical records, there is a search fee is $5.00 per record. The person's name and approximate date is required. Please mail request & check to the address listed below.
To apply in person You may either order the certificate by telephone and pick up the copy or come into the Town Clerk’s Office and order the certificate by filling out the required application form. Your request will be processed and you can either arrange a time to come back and pick up your copy or have it mailed to you.
To apply by mail Simply send us a request stating the name of the individual and the date of the event and how many certified copies you would like. Please don’t forget to include a check for $10.00 per certified copy, payable to the “Town of Wayland.”
