Training Division
Preparation for any emergency is a key component of the Wayland Fire Department’s mission to the community we serve and to our fellow firefighters. The training division ensures that your Firefighters are provided with the knowledge and skills they need to protect the public and themselves.

The department’s fire and rescue training activities are coordinated by Deputy Chief David Houghtonand Captain Robert Dorey.   Chief Vincent Smith coordinates our department’s emergency medical service training.

In addition to our regular in service training programs, our department works closely with a variety of professional training organizations including: the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy, the National Fire Academy, the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services and many others emergency training organizations.

We have posted some images and stories of our recent department training activities for your review and enjoyment.
