The table below lists GIS data layers that are maintained by the Survey Department. All GIS data is available in ESRI Shapefile file format, and is projected to MA StatePlane, NAD27, feet.

1. Purchase Town GIS Data |
GIS Data CD ROM's can be purchased for a price of $25.00 per Copy, either at the Town Survey Department, or by sending a check or money order to: Wayland Survey Department, 41 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA 01778. Data is provided in ESRI SHP file format, and includes all layers mentioned in the above table. Important! All GIS data is projected to MA Stateplane, NAD27, feet. Before purchasing Wayland GIS data, you MUST sign a data release form. |
2. Download MassGIS Data |
Additional State and Local GIS Data can be obtained (most of it for free) at http://www.mass.gov/mgis. Please review the guidelines established by the MassGIS Office of Geographic and Environmental Information (Tel) 617-626-1238. |
3. GIS Data Depot |
National and State GIS data can also be purchased and downloaded at the GIS Data Depot. This website offers a comprehensive listing of GIS data, including data provided by FEMA, USGS, and the US Census Bureau. |
4. Custom GIS Data Layers |
If you still cannot find a specific GIS data layer, you can request custom GIS data by contacting the GIS Coordinator. Important! All custom GIS requests are subject to approval. The Town of Wayland is NOT responsible for fulfilling any personal GIS data requests. Fees do apply, and are based upon staff scheduling, and the amount of time determined necessary to complete a request. |
