2017 Seasonal Opportunty - Conservation
Wayland Conservation is looking for a seasonal laborer(s) to perform and assist with a variety of duties in connection with conservation land management and maintenance work including, but not limited to, mowing of conservation fields, cutting grass, raking leaves, watering, invasive plant removal trail maintenance, light chainsaw work and perform other related duties as required.  Ability to follow oral and written instructions; work in a team setting; exercise sound judgment.  Invasive Plant knowledge helpful/desirable but not necessary. Town Engineer
Provides professional, technical, administrative, and managerial work in assisting in planning, directing and managing town engineering work; prepares and reviews plans and specifications; establishes project schedules; maintains progress records of work performed; monitors contractors’ work; assists with capital and operating budgets; advises the Town Administrator on non-DPW engineering and land use matters; knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering; ability to manage complex technical and administrative duties requiring independent judgement.  Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction or related field and 5 years of experience working in an engineering environment, preferably DPW related civil engineering work.  PE and MA CPO preferred.  A Master’s Degree may be substituted for 2 years’ experience.    Salary range: $75,074-$96,960 with full benefits.  Resumes to:  HR Director, Town of Wayland, 41 Cochituate Rd, Wayland, MA  01778; Email:  Resumes accepted through March 30, 2017.  AA/EOE

DPW Heavy Equipment Operator – Transfer Station PT

Performs a variety of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled manual work associated with the maintenance, repair and operation of the Transfer Station. Minimum entrance requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent with at least three (3) years of related experience in public works of which at least 1 year required in the operation of heavy equipment. Waste management experience preferred. Licenses/Certificates:  Must have and maintain a valid Class B CDL license; Class A, CDL preferred. Must have and maintain a valid Class 2B Hoisting License; 2A Hoisting License preferred. Salary range: $20.24 – 24.83/hour, 17 – 19 hours a week. Schedule: Tuesdays 8am-4pm & Saturdays 7am-4pm and extra hours available to cover shifts.
