Chapter 41, Section 97A, the Chief will lead a department of 22 Officers serving a primarily residential community west of Boston. The successful candidate will possess a clear vision for the future of the department, demonstrable leadership skills, excellent communication and customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with all members of the community. Duties include directing all departmental operations; developing and implementing rules, policies and procedures; developing and implementing training programs; interfacing with a wide variety of contacts; administering to department personnel and participating in labor negotiations.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice or a related field of endeavor. Master’s Degree in criminal justice, public administration or related field or a juris doctorate preferred. Over eight (8) years’ experience in law enforcement of which at least five (5) years has been in a command capacity at the rank of Lieutenant or higher. F.B.I. National Academy or advanced LEEDS training preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Must possess a valid driver’s license; must have completed a basic police recruit academy which has been certified or is certifiable by the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Council.
Salary: $102,580-$133,845 with comprehensive benefits package

DPW Heavy Equipment Operator – Transfer Station PT
Performs a variety of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled manual work associated with the maintenance, repair and operation of the Transfer Station. Minimum entrance requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent with at least three (3) years of related experience in public works of which at least 1 year required in the operation of heavy equipment.
