The Wayland DPW is offering a Rain Barrel Program to help residents conserve water and save money.
Here’s How Rain Barrels Help You Save Money and Conserve Water
- Rain barrels collect and store rainwater for outdoor water use which means you’ll save money on your water bill.
- Rain water is chlorine free and an excellent source of plants and gardens
- Rain barrels reduce pollutants from entering into the water supplies by reducing runoff – which helps towns manage the water supplies and keep costs down.
- Rain barrels are low cost and easy to install.

END OF WATER USE RESTRICTIONS
Due to the a the above average rainfall, the MA Drought Task Force has determined that groundwater levels have returned to normal across the state. As a result, Wayland has lifted the outdoor water conservation restrictions. The Water Dvision will continue to monitor the local water levels at our sources and the ability to meet system demand as the summer progresses. Residents will be notified if additional restriction become necessary.
