Over the years, Wayland Youth and Family Services has organized a number of parent discussion groups, often structured by grade level. Monthly discussion groups provide a safe forum for sorting out what our children need from us, and for sharing ideas and strategies for dealing with specific situations. Each group chooses the topics that are most relevant to its membership. The group leader guides the group in learning about the tasks and issues of this stage of development. These groups serve to strengthen a sense of community and give parents a network
of other parents they feel comfortable to call to discuss issues that arise.
