Licenses/Permits

The Town Clerk issues licenses and permits including:

pole location permits (fee $40.00)
storage of gasoline (fee $50.00)
raffle and bazaar licenses (fee $30.00)
various regulatory licenses as assigned, in accordance with applicable Town and State laws

Marriage License

A couple planning to get married in Massachusetts needs to:

File their marriage intention in order for the marriage to be recognized as official.
Come together in person to the Town Clerk's Office to file the intention. There is a three (3) day waiting period.
The filing fee is $25.00 plus $10.00 for a certified copy of the marriage license. Checks should be made payable to the Town of Wayland.

Once issued, the marriage license is valid for 60 days. Once a marriage license is returned to the Town Clerk by the Officiant indicating that the marriage has taken place, it will be recorded with the state and a marriage certificate may be issued.

Dog Licenses

PLEASE REMEMBER TO LICENSE YOUR DOG ANNUALLY

All dog owners in the Town are required to obtain a license for their dog(s).

The licensing period is from January 1 in the calendar year to December 31 of the same year.

All dogs must be licensed by January 15th.

A license will be issued only if the owner has evidence of a rabies vaccination which is valid as of the date of issuance.

The fee for licensing dogs in Wayland: Male/Female $20.00 each - Neutered/Spayed $15.00 each.
