Lake Cochituate consists of three linked ponds known as North Pond, Middle Pond, and South Pond. Lake Cochituate' s North Pond is the site of Wayland Town Beach. Lake Cochituate is a 625 acre body of water, made of three ponds and their connector ponds reaching Natick, Wayland, and Framingham, Massachusetts. Lake Cochituate was created by the construction of Lake Cochituate Dam to provide a reservoir for water supply to the City of Boston; it no longer serves that function, and is now a local recreational resource.
Public Lake Access
Adjacent to the Town Beach is a small access path for non-motorized crafts (kayaks, paddleboards, sailboats, canoes, etc.)
There is no public boat ramp for motorized watercraft accessible via Wayland Town Beach, there are access points at Cochituate State Park and areas of Middle Pond and South Pond.
Phase 1 requires all boat passengers to be of the same household. Check in with the beach staff to get a parking spot.
