Dudley Woods Trail
Located between Pond Drive and Doran Road. Parking on Pond Drive.
In 2011, the Board of Selectmen established the Dudley Area Advisory Committee (DAAC) with the charge to determine the best use for this land. After two years of research, DAAC recommended this seven acre parcel be used for passive recreation. At Town Meeting in 2014, the people of Wayland voted to transfer fourteen parcels of this land to the Recreation Commission for the purpose of passive recreation.
The Recreation Commission partnered with the BETA Group to develop a concept and cost estimates, was awarded Community Preservation Act funding, and later enlisted Marshall | Gary LLC for the landscape design. Construction was completed in 2019 by the Canniff Company. [more info]
Today this area features over a quarter mile of ADA accessible walkways, park benches, and trail wayfinding signage. The trails loop around the property and offers convenient access to Rocky Point on Dudley Pond.
