Sudbury River Herbicide Treatment

The stretch of the Sudbury River between Sherman’s Bridge Road and Route 27 will be chemically treated with a USEPA/MA registered aquatic herbicide, Clearcast (Imazamox) targeting the control of invasive water chestnut, on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. The management area of the river will be closed to swimming, boating, and fishing during the day of treatment. Temporary signs that warn of the applicable water use restrictions, will be posted at access points in advance of treatment. The work is being performed for US Fish and Wildlife Service, under contract to Water & Wetland, LLC and pursuant to Orders of Conditions permits from the Sudbury and Wayland Conservation Commissions and License to Apply Chemicals permit from MA DEP.
