Transportation

The Council On Aging has information about a variety of transportation options for both medical and social needs.   The COA is available to answer any of your questions.  Reach us at 508-358-2990.

 

Please join us for a Special Transportation Event being held at Wayland COA on September 25, 2019. 

This two part event will include an overview of MWRTA transportation options at 10am, and registration/distribution of Senior Charlie Cards at 11am.   See page 12 of our September newsletter for further details.

Please click the links below for more information on each of the following options.

  1. MWRTA Dial-A-Ride: This is a low cost, shared-ride system that offers door-to-door transportation and is operated by the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA).  Rides can be booked for travel to both medical and leisure destinations.  This resource is available for Wayland residents age 65+ and younger residents with a disability.  A one time registration form is required and rides must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
  2. Medical Taxi Voucher Program: Offers discounted pricing on taxi rides to medical appointments.  Available for medical appointments only.  Vouchers are sold at the COA and must be purchased prior to travel.  
  3. F.I.S.H. (Friends In Service Helping): This group of dedicated volunteers may be able to provide medical rides for Wayland residents who are unable to use other transportation resources.  Available for medical appointments only.
