Health and Wellness Programs

We offer a variety of weekly Fitness Classes taught by certified instructors. See our monthly newsletter for a current schedule. Also, remember that many insurance plans will reimburse you for fitness classes. Check to see if yours does. 

  • Zumba: cardio fitness with dance;
  • Lois' Fit for Future: aerobic exercise to music, includes stretching, toning and weights;
  • Tai Chi: gentle exercise designed to reinforce posture, balance and fundamental movement. A modern approach to an antiquated way. 
  • Thera-Tube: fitness class with instruction using resistance bands with handles to increase range of motion and strength.
  • SAIL (Stay Active and Independent for Life): Helps older adults improve balance and mobility, reduce fall risks, and improve quality of life. 
  • Walking Club: walking together outdoors (weather permitting) for up to an hour, and indoors during inclement weather. 

Special Presentations on various health topics are offered throughout the year including subjects such as nutrition, diabetes management, chronic disease management, Alzheimer’s support, cardiac education and many other health information presentations.

Blood Pressure Checks are available by appointment at the Wayland Health Department at (508) 358-3617.
