The Town of Wayland is pleased to announce the May 2024 launch of Wayland Electricity Choice, a type of group electricity buying program from the Town for residents and businesses.
Participants in Wayland Electricity Choice get more electricity from renewable sources for a price that is lower than Eversource’s current residential Basic Service price (though future savings cannot be guaranteed). In addition, the program provides 24 months of electricity price stability, which means protection from winter electricity price spikes.
Wayland Electricity Choice changes the price that Eversource uses to calculate the Supply portion of our electric bill, which is the part of the bill where we pay for the electricity we use. But Eversource remains our electric utility and continues delivering our electricity, sending our bills, and addressing power outages.
With the program’s launch, Wayland joins more than 170 other Massachusetts communities that already have similar active programs.

Tuesday, April 2, 11:30 AM – 12:45 PM – Wayland Council on Aging meeting room
Wednesday, April 3, 7:00 – 9:00 PM – Large Hearing Room
These meetings will be conducted in person with a remote attendance option, both meetings will be recorded and available on WayCAM as soon as possible after the conclusion of the meeting.
