Wayland Town Center: Mixed Use Overlay Project

Wayland Town Center: Mixed Use Overlay Project

The 2006 Special Town Meeting approved a Planning Board article, which rezones the Wayland Business Center Property, also known as the Former Raytheon Property, to allow for the development of a mixed-use project.  The Mixed-Use Overlay District Bylaw establishes the parameters of how the property can be developed, establishes the maximum amount of residential, commercial, and municipal space, and established a process for the review and approval of the project.

On May 18, 2007, Twenty Wayland LLC submitted the Master Special Permit for the Wayland Town Center Project.  This website was developed as a means to track the project and to be a resource to people interested in the project.  Documents are available ranging form the first public presentation of the concept of the project, through the bylaw development process, to the current Master Special Permit Application submittal.

The Wayland Town Center Project was first conceptualized in the spring of 2005.  Over the last two years, the project has gone through numerous stages.  This website was created to track the project through the various processes, such as zoning bylaw development, through the review of the Town Center Project Master Special Permit Application.  Given the volume of material available, documents have been divided into web pages for the various stages of the project.  Please click the links below to view documents associated with each stage of the Wayland Town Center Project.  We hope that this page will be of use to you.  If you have any questions or recommendations, please contact the Town Planner at (508) 358-3778.
