Emergency Notification (SWIFT 911)

SWIFT 911 Wayland Emergency Notification System

In an effort to provide reliable and effective communication to residences, the Town of Wayland has contracted with Swiftreach Networks, Inc. as our emergency notification provider.

Swift911 is a high speed notification system designed to make calls to specific people or areas in the event of an emergency or for sharing important information.

The Wayland Police Department and other town departments will use this system to notify residents by telephone of important information regarding you and your property. The system can make thousands of calls in a minute to convey vital information. These messages may include information on floods, fires, water emergencies, road closures, missing persons, evacuation orders, weather and other emergencies.

It is important, that residents and business owners verify their contact information in the data base. Accurate telephone numbers in the database help to ensure, but cannot guarantee, that emergency information will be passed on to everyone in a timely manner.

Residents can add additional telephone numbers including a cell phone, and can also receive notification by email, text or pager. The address documented must be in Wayland, but the phone number can be for anywhere. Additionally, the system employs a Do Not Call component for those who do not wish to receive the alert.

All the calls you receive will have a Caller ID indicating the Town of Wayland. Please fill out this form to add or update your contact information. You may also remove yourself from the list. If you do not have access to a computer, you may call the Wayland Police Department at 508-358-4721 to provide the information.
