The Town of Wayland, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for demolition and disposal of the former Department of Public Works Building located at 195 Main Street in Wayland, MA. The scope of work includes but is not limited to, the following:
 Removal of asbestos and hazardous materials
 Demolition, removal, and proper disposal of existing building, slab on grade to remain
 Suitable fill and compaction of partial basement and septic tank
 Create tapered, paved grade transitions at changes in slab height to allow for snow plowing
Bidding procedures shall be in accordance with Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 149.
Sealed bids for DEMOLITION AND ASBESTOS ABATEMENT OF FORMER DPW BUILDING will be received at the Facilities Department, 2nd Floor, Wayland Town Building, 41 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA 01778 until 2:00 PM, May 9, 2019. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately thereafter at the location set forth in the previous sentence. The estimated cost of this contract is $200,000. The Contract shall commence upon Notice to Proceed.
A pre-bid conference and site walk-through will be held at the former DPW building 195 Main Street, Wayland, MA 01778 on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 11:30 AM. No preregistration is required. Contractors are invited to meet the owner representative at the parking area.
Bid documents will be available, free of charge, on or after 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, including bid forms, and may be electronically downloaded from the Town of Wayland website at: www.wayland.ma.us/bids by selecting “19-1067-IFB Demolition of Former DPW Building” or may be viewed at the Facilities Department, 2nd Floor, Wayland Town Building, 41 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA 01778.

Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Rates apply to this Contract.
