Beginning Sunday night, October 14
As part of our ongoing effort to improve water quality, the Water Division will conduct its Fall Fire Hydrant Flushing Program beginning on Sunday October 14, 2018 and last approximately three weeks. Flushing will begin in the area of the Baldwin Pond Treatment Plant and will progress to the Northern end of Town.
Fire Hydrant Flushing will be performed at night between the hours of 10:00pm and 5:00am Sunday – Thursday to minimize the impact to our customers. Some customers may experience discolored or “rusty” looking water. The discolored water is caused by naturally occurring iron minerals that disturbed during the flushing process. These non-health threatening minerals may cause staining of laundry and plumbing fixtures.
If you have any questions, please contact the DPW office at 508-358-3672.
