The TRANSFER STATION is OPEN on Thursdays and Saturdays from 7:00am to 4:00pm as usual
Temporarily Suspended - Acceptance of Bulky Waste, Tires, Mattresses & Box Springs
Due to public health concerns surrounding COVID-19, the Transfer Station is temporarily suspending the acceptance of payable items such as Bulky Waste, Electronics and Tires as well as recyclable Mattresses & Box Springs. We ask that you store these items for the time being until we are able to accept them when circumstances allow.
Additionally, the sale of Stickers and Orange Pay-As-You-Throw bags at the Transfer Station will be temporarily suspended. Wayland Trash Bags are available for purchase, by appointment only, at the Treasurer's Office located at the Town Building. Please call the Treasurer's Office at 508-358-3633 to arrange payment and pickup.
Users of the Transfer Station are required to dispose of their regular household trash in special Town of Wayland trash bags. There are three bag sizes available, and there is no sales tax on the bags:
Small (8 gallon) for $5.00 per 5-Pack
Medium (14 gallon) for $7.50per 5-Pack
Large (30 gallon) for $12.50 per 5-Pack

In addition the 'Give & Take' is closed until further notice, and the Electronics Day on the first Saturday of April (4th) has been postponed.
In the interest of limiting public interaction, we ask that patrons follow a "Throw & Go" approach, meaning, please dispose of your waste in a safe and controlled manner following necessary social distancing and then vacate the property so that following customers can do the same.
We understand these restrictions are an inconvenience but for the purpose of keeping our customers safe and healthy, they are believed to be in the public's best interest.
