Wayland Community Aggregation Plan Gets Approval from the Department of Public Utilities

The Town of Wayland has proposed a consumer-friendly electricity (Community Aggregation) Plan titled Wayland Electricity Choice, to the Department of Public Utilities. This program involves electricity aggregation, which is essentially a collective purchasing initiative. Through this program, the Town aims to use the combined buying power of its residents and businesses to significantly increase the share of renewable energy in Wayland's electricity supply.

Wayland Electricity Choice empowers both residents and businesses in the town with new choices and greater control over the cost and environmental impact of their electricity usage. While the program cannot guarantee cost savings, the Town is committed to pursuing competitive and stable prices.

Excitingly, the Department of Public Utilities has approved Wayland's Community Aggregation plan. The program is set to officially launch in late 2024!
