Understanding your FY 15 Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes
For Fiscal Year (FY) 2015, Wayland property tax bills have been allocated differently than in years past.
Wayland property owners received a 2 ½ percent increase on their 1st and 2nd quarter bills due August 1 and November 1, 2014.
This was the maximum allowed adjustment allowed under the Massachusetts Law that guides preliminary tax bills.
The FY 2015 property tax levy increased from FY 2014 by 9.155%. The property tax levy is the revenue a town can raise to support
local spending for schools, public safety and other public services. This increase has impacted the 3rd and 4th quarter tax bills.
The actual tax rate only increased slightly from the FY 2014 rate of $18.33 to the FY 2015 Rate of $18.39.
