Wayland Fire Department Issues Storm Update

Wayland, MA – The storm on Monday, December 18, 2023, produced significant tree damage and flooding in Wayland.  Currently, there are 313 structures without power in the community, and this number is rapidly decreasing. We understand the inconvenience that this storm has caused, and remain committed to working with Eversource to resolve the remaining electrical issues. Eversource has a large amount of resources working on repairs and expect restoration efforts to be complete by Midnight today.

All residents are encouraged to utilize the library, during normal operating hours:

Monday – Thursday: 9:00AM – 9:00PM

Friday 9:00AM – 6:00PM

Saturday: 10:00AM – 5:00PM

Sunday: 2:00PM – 5:00PM

Alternatively,  the Public Safety Building, located at 38 Cochituate Road, to warm up and/or recharge electrical devices.

Please be advised, there are two roads that are closed due to flooding, Pelham Island and River. Water levels are expected to peak within the next 24 hours. Motorist should avoid these roads.
