Wayland Initiates Reverse 911 Call Following Numerous Road Closures & Power Outages

Wayland, MA – The Town of Wayland issued a reverse 911 notification call today following multiple road closures and wide spread power outages across Town.  Both were the result of a powerful storm moving through our area with high winds and substantial rain.  As part of the reverse 911 phone call, Police Chief Ed Burman stated the following:

“This is an important message from the Wayland Police and Fire Departments.  We are aware of multiple trees down and street closures in Wayland.  We are currently prioritizing tree removal with our DPW, including additional assistance provided by Eversource Electric.  If you have an emergency, you are reminded to call 911 and if this is a non-emergency, please call 508-358-4721.  As a reminder, if you see any wires on the ground do not go near them and call 911 to report this.”

With regard to street closures, the Town listed the following road closures as of 11 AM on Monday, December 18th, 2023:

  1. Alden Rd.
  2. Old Connecticut Path
  3. Red Barn Rd.
