The Town of Wayland, Massachusetts, will receive bids at the Town of Wayland, Procurement Office, 41 Cochituate Road, Wayland, Massachusetts, for the Pinebrook Road Culvert Rehabilitation Project (Bid No. IFB 18-2014) until 10:00 AM local time, Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. Bids submitted after this time will not be accepted.
The work under this contract is at one location in the Town of Wayland. The location is Pinebrook Road, approximately 0.5 miles west of the intersection of Route 20 (Boston Post Road) and Old Connecticut Path. The location of the work is on Pinebrook Road, approximately 0.1 miles south of Route 20 (Boston Post Road).
The work under this Contract generally consists of temporary control of water, tree removal, removal and resetting of reinforced concrete pipe sections, cast-in-place concrete wingwall construction, cast-in-place concrete headwall construction, cast-in-place concrete cutoff wall construction, shallow depth concrete repairs, site restoration, and other related work.
The work under Add Alternate #1 includes the planting of pine and maple trees. The work under Add Alternate #2 includes full depth roadway reconstruction.

Bidders shall be prequalified by MassDOT in Highway-Construction.
A Bid deposit of not less than 5% of the value of the contract is required in the form of a bid bond, cash or certified or treasurer's check. A Labor and Materials Payment Bond of 100% of the contract price are required. Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Rates apply.
Bids for this Contract are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 30, Section 39M (MGL C.30, S.39M). No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days (Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded) after the actual date of the opening of the General Bids. Minimum wage rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Labor and Industries under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project.
The Town of Wayland reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid, to waive any informality on bids received, to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the best interests of the Town or to limit the extent of the Work to keep within the limits of available funds.
All work under this contract shall be done in conformance with the Massachusetts Highway Department Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges dated 1988, the Supplemental Specifications dated July 1, 2015; the 2014 Construction Standard Details, the 1990 Standard Drawings for Signs and Supports; the 2009 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) with Massachusetts Amendments and the Standard Municipal Traffic Code; the 1968 Standard Drawings for Traffic Signals and Highway Lighting; the latest edition of American Standard for Nursery Stock; the Plans and these Special Provisions. All work shall also be in conformance with the Town of Wayland Conservation Commission’s Order of Conditions and Ch. 194 Permit, and the USACOE SV Form.
