How can I participate in a Public Meeting virtually as a member of the public?
Most meetings will be open to public participation through virtual means. These meetings will be indicated on the Virtual Meeting Information page (https://www.wayland.ma.us/public-body-meeting-information-virtual-inperson-and-hybrid) with a link to the meeting.
Here are some tips to be able to participate in applicable meetings:
- Download and Install the Zoom app n your computer/phone/tablet (device) prior to the meeting
- Zoom Download Center - Look for Zoom Client for Meetings
- Apple App Store
- Google Play Store
- When it is time for the meeting, click on the provided link on the Virtual Meetings Information page (https://www.wayland.ma.us/town-meeting-information-virtual-inperson-and-hybrid)
- If individual Board/Committee/Commission will be accepting public interaction, they will request the public interested in participating to "raise their hand"
- Zoom "Raise Hand" functionality.
- Click the "Raise Hand" button on your screen and wait to be recognized.
- Once recognized, you will be granted the ability to speak to the meeting
- State your name and address for the record followed by your comment
- Zoom "Raise Hand" functionality.
- Remember that, as with traditional meetings, the decision to recognize public comments/questions is up to the Chair.
