Responsibilities:
 
  • As tax collector, we manage the tax collection process for real and personal property taxes, excises, betterments, and certain other charges added to and committed as taxes.
  • As town collector, the office has expanded authority to receive and collect all monies or accounts due a municipality.
  • As treasurer, this office manages municipal finances including banking, investments, cash management, debt management, etc.
  • We also are responsible for issuing Municipal Lien Certificates, managing the Tax Title and Betterment accounts, and helping taxpayers resolve any town-related financial.

The Town of Wayland accepts tax and water payments using City Hall Systems. If you would like to pay your Real Estate, Personal Property, Motor Vehicle, or Water bill online, please use the link below. Please note: Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 60 Section 3 states that failure to receive a bill does not relieve the taxpayer/ ratepayer of the responsibility of paying all taxes, charges, interest, and fees. All payments are effective dated for the day that they are received. We do not honor postmarked dates.
