Municipal Lien Certificates: $50.00 per Parcel
An MLC is a legal document that lists all taxes, assessments, water and sewer charges owed to the town on a parcel. These documents are generally requested by law offices in preparation for a sale or refinance of a property. Each request should include a property description, parcel number and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. The fee for each certificate is $50.00. If a property has more then one parcel of land, a certificate must be ordered for each parcel. The certificates are usually prepared within 3 to 4 business days depending on how involved the request is and during peak collection times in the collector's office the request may take longer to process.
