RecPass Afterschool Activities

New!
Bus

In 2018, Wayland, like many school districts, adjusted its school start and dismissal times which upended the carefully balanced routines for elementary school students. With elementary school students getting out of school 50 minutes earlier than before, there was a new need for already-scarce afterschool activities.

Early in 2023, a small group of thoughtful and committed parents banded together and started chipping away at the problem. New for Fall 2023, we are excited to present, RecPass where students can enroll in quality age-appropriate activities led by professionals with expertise in each subject matter.

On each school day, we will provide transportation from each elementary school to the Town Building where kids can participate in a variety of active and passive recreation including outdoor nature, sports and games on the fields and in the gymnasium, as well as arts, science, technology and enrichment activities in our classroom. When students arrive at Town Building, they will have an opportunity to take a brain break and get ready for the activity for which you have pre-enrolled. Parents must pick-up students at the end of the program. With limited space and resources RecPass is just one part of the solution; and aims to connect students to our existing Recreation activity schedule.
